How Was Your Day? with Kathleen DeCosmo

On July 3rd, 2024, we lost our Stepfather, Michael J. DeCosmo, lovingly known as “Doc.” My Mom was inseparable from Doc for 44 years, and, as you can imagine, it has been a brutal 4 weeks now since he left this earth. My brother, sister, and niece and nephews all spend as much time with my Mom as possible, but at the end of the day, my Mom, Kathleen, often says that what she misses the most is someone to ask, “How was your day?” And, being the psychologist that she is, she often wonders how people who are alone do it? Those who have no one to ask how their day was.

As a result, in her grief, my Mom realized she wants to ask, “How was your day?” to help others get through their loneliness as she begins to grapple with her own.

With that intention, my Mom and I will be hosting a podcast where we talk about this concept and need, while also interviewing some of the most inspiring people you’ve ever met. My Mom intends to write a few words on the blog here and there, and wants to provide resources for all those in the throes of grief moving toward a renewed sense of happiness.

We are not here long, but the ride can seem never-ending. Let’s be there for each other as we get through and over it.
